Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, took to the congressional stage, discussing the nitty-gritty of AI regulation and safety alongside AI bigwigs like Gary Marcus and IBM's Christina Montgomery.
Their conversation was loaded with hot topics such as the threat of election interference by AI, the necessity for licenses before launching AI models, and the fine line AI needs to tread when influencing human actions. OpenAI is adding new features for people who subscribe to ChatGPT Plus. For $20, subscribers can now use 'Plugins', including a 'Web Browsing' plugin that helps the chatbot give better answers. They'll also be able to use over 70 different apps. Further, the company has made ChatGPT available on iPhones, eliminating the need to use Safari or resize windows. However, currently, it is only available in the United States. Here’s the app store link.
Anthropic has made their chatbot, Claude, a lot smarter! Before, Claude could understand about 9,000 pieces of information (or "tokens") at once. Now, it can handle a whopping 100,000 tokens. In simple terms, that's the equivalent of reading and understanding 75,000 words from hundreds of pages. You can also put whole books or documents into Claude and start chatting about it. It's like having a super-smart book club partner who's always ready to talk!

ChatGPT vs. Bard
In the high-stakes battlefield of AI, two champions are standing head-to-head: OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google’s Bard. So, which one should you use?
Real-time data: Bard has been trained on much more recent data than GPT4 (which was last trained in Sep ‘21). While GPT4 has a browser plug-in, Bard's faster but both are reliable for fetching current data.
Coding: Bard's good, ChatGPT's better for detailed Python assistance.
Content gen: ChatGPT's creative, Bard's straightforward.
