The 2-Minute Scoop to Keep You in the Loop

Okay, there’s a lot to cover here! Google’s really revving up its AI game with an avalanche of new launches this past week.

  • Google has unveiled a new AI model, PaLM2, that is better at reasoning and logic than OpenAI's GPT-4

  • Google's chatbot Bard, similar to ChatGPT, is now available for everyone to use and it's gaining new features like exporting to various apps and integrating with tools like Google Maps and Adobe Firefly

  • Google's search function is being upgraded with an AI snapshot that gives answers from top links, and it allows for follow-up questions, transforming the search experience into a conversation

  • Google's Workspace AI sidekick, Duet AI, helps with tasks like converting text to tables, finding info in Gmail, and creating images in Slides, making it easier to work in Gmail and Docs

With Google launching more goodies than a tech Santa Claus, we’re just relieved the stock market didn't take a $100B nosedive this time around! Now that's what we call a successful product demo!

Meta is working on a new tool called ImageBind, which can create a full experience from just text. For example, it can create an image of a rainforest, make the sound of rain, and even simulate its depth and temperature. And of course, they had to tie it into virtual reality - a touch of quintessential Zuck for you!

Fret not if you missed out on early access to Microsoft's Bing AI, because the exclusive party is over - it's now open to everyone! With upgraded features like handling images, videos, potential plug-in capabilities for tasks like restaurant booking and personal chat history, Bing AI is more robust than ever. More details in the official Microsoft publication here.
